Bio
Grammy-nominated Henta is a singer/songwriter/producer and has been writing songs for about 30 years. Although classically trained on piano, she progressed to writing electronic music in the 1990s.
Music is her true passion and vocation, so much so that in 2006 she left her home town of Guildford in the UK and moved to Seattle to pursue her musical career. She writes uplifting and heartfelt songs from personal experience and influence of others who come into her life.
Henta also teaches children and adults to play the piano and express themselves through music and songwriting and very much enjoys this part of her musical vocation. She currently resides in Roslyn, WA and is writing her fourth album, as well as collaborating with other musicians both nationally and internationally.
Collaborations and influences:
Henta has been in a number of bands and has collaborated with other musicians and sound engineers on projects in varying styles of music from ballads – pop – rock – dance – meditation. She has composed and released much production library music for Northstar Music and Stock International, many of which often crop up on the Discovery Channel. She was also a finalist in Unisong 1999.
One of her most memorable and interesting projects involved working with Geraint Hughes (www.thepodule.com) who is famous for co-writing some hits from the 70s some of which have since been remixed recently, namely ‘I lost my heart to a Starship Trooper’ and ‘Barbados’. They produced a mixture of covers and original songs, as well as library pieces together from the famous ‘Podule’.
Another of Henta’s big influences was Marc Francois (www.darkstate.co.uk) who was her sound engineer for La Mint Collection and co-writer on ‘Wanna Luv You’ from this collection. Also special thanks go to Prof Stu and Wes Phd for ‘La Mint’ inspiration.
